1. Introduction

LOCKSS is an open source distributed digital preservation system developed by the LOCKSS program at Stanford University Libraries.

This chapter introduces LOCKSS, and this manual details most aspects of upgrading, installing, configuring, running, using, troubleshooting and maintaining LOCKSS 2.0-beta2 NOT YET RELEASED.
